About Dismantling Joints

It can be challenging to insert components like valves into piping sections without longitudinal adjustments. Dismantling joints are piping components that allow for linear variations during the installation and the removal of pipe sections or valves.

Dismantling joints are crucial when installing or removing valves, pumps, and pipe sections. The vital areas of application are:

  • Industrial pipelines,

  • Pumping stations,

  • Water treatment plants,

  • Water meter chambers,

  • Hydropower plants.

Dismantling joints come in two types: rigid or thrust and non-rigid or non-thrust, with the core difference being the number of anchor bolts.

The thrust type Hawle dismantling joint 9810 has more continuous threaded bolts, as the non-rigid version. By design, the thrust type can take on the axial forces of a pipeline, unlike the non-thrust type. The continuous threaded anchor bolts of the rigid type connect all three flanges, eliminating the need for additional screws. On the other hand, the non-rigid type has separate anchor bolts for the sealing flange.

The primary material for the Hawle ductile iron dismantling joints is epoxy powder coated ductile iron. Also, the pressure ratings of Hawle dismantling joints vary from PN 10 to PN 25, and come in dimensions up to DN 1600. Upon request, we can manufacture larger dimensions or pressure rating of PN 40.
