On May 10, North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), in collaboration with China Huadian Corporation, Xinjiang University, and the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications from Kazakhstan, officially launched the China–Central Asia Energy and Power Innovation Alliance at a signing ceremony held in Beijing.
Wang Qinghua, Party Secretary of NCEPU, emphasized that the alliance is a significant step in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative and deepening energy cooperation between China and Central Asia. The alliance aims to strengthen infrastructure connectivity, foster joint research, and improve resource allocation, driving regional collaboration in energy development.
NCEPU will focus on research partnerships, talent development, and regional support. Key initiatives include creating joint laboratories and introducing advanced technologies to the Central Asian market.
Kanat Naghmetov, President of Almaty University, expressed confidence in the partnership, noting China’s global leadership in innovation as a strong foundation for collaboration. He believes the alliance will integrate research, industry, and education, creating opportunities for future generations and setting a precedent for cross-border cooperation. “This alliance marks a new beginning for energy development,” Naghmetov said. “By connecting science, education, and industry, we aim to build a stable and prosperous energy future together.”
