FAW Trucks’ first locally produced unit was released in 2014. Today the company offers a range of no fewer than 16 vehicles. In the first quarter of 2021, the brand found itself in the top spot for heavy commercial vehicles. In April of the same year, its 7 000th JH6 28.500FT was produced at the Coega plant. Last year, FAW achieved the silver award from the NADA Dealer Satisfaction index. As a result of the strong demand from the market, FAW has now made the 8.140FL range available with the option of an automatic gearbox. The 8.140FL-AT is available from FAW Trucks dealers in several body derivatives, including a drop-side, a taut-liner option, a van body, a tipper, a roll-back and a dry-freight insulated body. Customers can also choose to purchase the chassis cab and fit their own truck bodies to suit their specific needs. It is sold with a two-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and benefits from the full extent of sales and/or service from representative outlets across South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. The big news for 2022 is that FAW will expand its product offering by introducing its JK6 15.220FL eight-tonne 4×2 freight carrier. It will be powered by 6 060cc engine producing 165kW and 770Nm. The JK6 will be fitted with an eight-speed manual synchromesh gearbox, hydraulic air-assisted clutch and dual circuit brakes with ABS. “The reason for our continued growth and success in South Africa is that we cater for virtually every need. With a host of different engine capacities, payload allowances and body options on offer, businesses big and small can rely on our products to get the job done.” Source: QuickPic
