How often should you clean your jewellery?
This really depends on how often you wear jewellery. We aren’t going into the office every day or attending any social gatherings at the moment but if it is being worn daily, then I would suggest cleaning it every 1-2 weeks.
Do different stones affect the cleaning of your jewellery?
Absolutely. I would never advise cleaning jewellery containing emeralds, pearls, opals, turquoise or enamel at home as these stones require professional cleaning methods and extra care to avoid damage.

Should you be worried about different metals eroding when using cleaning products?
The technique mentioned above can be used with gold, platinum jewellery and most gemstones, but if you are using a specialist jewellery cloth with cleaner on it, be careful not to use a gold cloth on silver or a silver cloth on gold/platinum. I would heavily advise against using any stronger cleaning products. Fairy liquid and water is gentle enough not to cause damage, but gemstones can be very badly damaged by stronger chemicals found in most cleaning products.
