What’s the Difference between an Interactive Whiteboard and an Electronic Whiteboard?

Interactive whiteboard is a generic term for hardware that’s connected to your computer and displays your computer’s desktop, allowing you to interact with the information at the interactive whiteboard instead of on your computer. So, you can open applications, surf the web, write on the interactive surface, write over your notes, save the notes, watch videos, record sound, and use the camera attached to the interactive whiteboard.

Electronic whiteboard is also a generic term for hardware that’s connected to your computer, but all you can do with an electronic whiteboard is use dry-eraser markers on the board and then save the notes to your computer. You can’t display your computer desktop or any other software on an electronic whiteboard, or use your finger or other tools to control or interact with your software.
