Bermuda Triangle – Legend Or Science?

In the past century, Bermuda Triangle has claimed beyond 1000 lives. Many ships and airplanes have mysteriously gone missing. The area became a topic of conversation when the five military planes of Flight 19 vanished without a trace on December 5, 1945. Is Bermuda Triangle a myth or perhaps a scientific explanation can conclude its existence?

The legend of Bermuda Triangle emerged with Christopher Columbus on the way to his discovery of the New World. However it gained popularity with V. Gaddis article “The Argosy: A Magazine of Tales, Travels, Essays, and Poems.” Some believe the famous lost city of Atlantis hides in the depth of the Triangle. Many people claim to have experienced the power of the lost city. While others, believe it to be a place of Alien activity; several people claim the UFO sightings. However, under both these scenarios, no conclusive evidence was found.

The Bermuda Triangle is a section of ocean formed by drawing lines between Miami, Florida, Bermuda Island, and Puerto Rico. The location is an affluent area to search for large quantities of gold and treasure buried deep with the wreckage of ancient vessels in the depths of the ocean.

The possible scientific truth lies in its tropical weather, hidden ocean currents and earthquakes and the topography of the ocean floor. Let’s examine each one further.

In this tropical weather several short and intense storms build and dissipate quickly within seconds that goes undetected by the satellite surveillance. These even hold hazardous waterspouts that could easily destroy any passing plane or ship.

Geologists have found ample amounts of seismic activity in the Triangle, which may be responsible for such mysterious events. Earthquakes under shallow ocean water have a humongous capacity to generate tsunamis in the far East.

An interesting Gas Bubble theory states that a high concentration of gas hydrates in the area causing the water to become sparse within small patches. And it would result in shipwrecks without a trace.

The Gulf Stream is an ocean current, which is powerful and moves with a speed of 5 mph. This lethal current has an innate capacity to throw boaters off coarse, hundreds of miles. In addition, the unusual effects of magnetism in the area disorientate ships to recourse on track.

Air and water traffic is booming in this area. Accidents occur when the signals malfunction and the transport vehicles come into a very close contact before the pilot or the captain can judge the range to maintain a safe distance form other transporters. Thus, the cause of accidents and the strong Gulf Stream swallows all its victims, undoubtedly.

Christopher Columbus wrote in his diary about the Sargasso Sea “A fascinating area that resides to the east of the Triangle. Sitting in the middle of Atlantic it houses a few small islands and masses of clumped floating seaweed. It has warm water current within it swirls clockwise, affecting the weather of the area, keeping it calm and steamy. Having little wind, this area greatly affects un-powered ships.”

It disoriented his crew that it almost led them to mutiny. The possibility exists of never leaving this legendary sea.
